Cabela’s is Opening a Store in East Wichita

Cabela’s Inc. the world-wide known outdoor, hunting, and fishing store announced on Tuesday, January 18th that they would be opening a store in Wichita, Kansas.  It will be in Regency Lakes near 21st N and Greenwich.  It will be a small 80,000 sq. ft. compared to the 180,000 sq. ft. of the store in Kansas City.

” The building’s exterior will reflect Cabela’s traditional store model with log construction, stonework, wood siding and metal roofing. A large glass storefront will allow customers to view much of the store’s interior as they approach the building. The inside will highlight the company’s next-generation layout, which is designed to immerse customers in the outdoor experience and includes conservation-themed wildlife displays and trophy animal mounts. The store will also feature a Gun Library and Bargain Cave. Construction is expected to start in late July 2011.

“Kansans are no strangers to Cabela’s or the outdoors,” said Cabela’s Chief Executive Officer Tommy Millner. “It’s because of their loyalty to our brand and their passion for sports like hunting, fishing and camping that we’re able to build another store in the Sunflower State.”
